Shlama,

Here is a link for a Portuguese translation (I think) of the Peshitta NT: http://torahviva.org/teshuva/?PHPSESSID ... 99aed556a3

Upon viewing this again, it appears to be a Portuguese revision of the Bible originally translated by João Ferreira de Almeida http://books.google.com/books?id=2EwMAAAAYAAJ It appears the individual is making some corrections to the text and adding the divine name "YHWH" (in Hebrew letters) to the text. Unfortunately the documents arn't as useful as I previously thought because the site owner has disabled copying of text with one's mouse and has encoded everything in javascript. I applaud Mr. "Sha'ul Bentsion Ben Avraham" (site owner) for his efforts to make this update to the Almeida Bible (God knows we need more modern and corrected texts such as this) but making it where one can not use it for research (even within the bounds of copyright law) does a great disservice to students of the Scriptures. :( If someone just wants to read it I suppose that's the only thing one can do with it unless you download the entire site.

Many say the Almeida Bible is one of the best Portuguese Bible's ever produced and there are some in South America that view it like many English among the KJV Onlyite camp.
